He loves when I wear my SVU shirt and cheer at the game-or at least watch the game.
Even when I am so annoyed by the fat man sitting behind us yelling so loud into my ear "GO KNIGHTS!" and other stupid things. Bleh...
We went to Delaware {above}, had high hopes for the state that boasts first to sign The Constitution, but were slightly disappointed. Lovely homes and pretty autumn weather, but that's about it. Maybe we just didn't know what to do.
Sunday I made my first slow cooker meal (thanks to Lizzy and Dave Jensen). I did a pork roast with onions, garlic, thyme, rosemary and kale (hardly knew what kale was before I made this) and then mashed up some Yukon Gold tatoes with parmesan cheese and heavy cream. I was so proud and Mckay was so impressed. My thumb is seriously bandaged, athletic tape and all, because while chopping parsley I accidentally chopped part of my fingernail and some flesh clean off. I have super sharp knives, I love them, even when they hurt me.
I am worried that our apartment will end up looking "Grandma-ey" once I am done decorating. Uhhgg. It stresses me out. I'm torn between a classic, soft, neutral look and a chic, modern, colorful one. I'm having a hard time finding middle ground. In part, I blame the nasty pillows that came with the couches we bought.
Work in progress... I need inspiration.

Trevor's always joking that I'm trying to make our place look Grandma-y! Funny. I like floral prints and I can't help it. I bet your place is looking great though! And the meal looks yummy! Way to go!

I feel that way about photographs sometimes. I totally get what you are saying. Classic is good but spicing it up is fun too. Remember the law of chromatic distribution. Elephants are large and canaries are small for a reason. You can go classic and put a canary size piece of "BAM WOW" and it will look good, but then again I am the last person you should be taking decorating advice from. ;)
great job on dinner nicki! It took me forever to stock up on food to actually make decent meals! I am impressed. I love that house. You should buy it :)
OH and I think we should really visit each other! Or do one of those apartment swaps (like on The Holiday) But it would be REALLY fun to get us grown ladies together and have our hubbys hang out too!
You are like the classiest meal maker. I need you to make menus for me because almost everything I make is like Soup d'jour (no idea how to spell that), but it is all just left over. I want to learn how to make an elegant and beautiful food. And Lindsey totally loves the grandma floral prints. Trevor isn't joking.

And Regan's comments always make me laugh (they probably aren't that funny to people who don't know her very well, which is everyone except our family, but I laugh when I read her stuff). McAffee look, you must crowd every square inch of wall space with family photos, cross stitch samplers and framed "sayings". If you are going for the Gma. Craven look, you must sparsely hang small pictures on huge empty walls. If you are talking about my house, you must exhibit typical "mormony mom" decor on all horizontal surfaces (according to most sources)or just have fabu, economical taste (according to me). JK. Your moms comments were hillarious. I vote to change the pillows that came with your new couches. If they are nasty go buy some new fabric and make your own or shop Pottery Barn.
